Trail System

Well developed trail system for hiking, biking, and equestrian activities. Equestrian facilities available. Check out the new single track currently being cut from the valley floor to the high point of the ranch.

Lakes

Four reservoirs. Our lakes are well-stocked. If you come to fish for relaxation, beware: you'll not get much reading or meditation done between bites! If you come to fish for food, you'll be well-satisfied. Top of the watershed, mineralized water for swimming, basking, kind on your skin. Kayaking, canoeing, swimming, fishing.

Cycling

Epic mountain biking and road biking. Spend time talking to on-site resident, Mountain Biking Legend Victor Vincente of America. Bike Wine Country, Hot Springs trips, the Mendocino Coast, ride historic dirt old stage roads.

Workshops

Great Room for Yoga, workshops, or classes, for retreat, study, activities, or conference. Benmore ranch provides short term rentals, third parties may plan workshops using our homes.

Equestrian

Our eight-mile network of private Benmore dirt roads, augmented by ten miles of permission-granted neighboring ranch roads and trails, plus endless miles of adjacent BLM trails will provide hours of equestrian adventure.

Wildflowers

From April to August, a continual re-birth and flowering of native plants. Anything from fields of lupin to hidden-away, hard-to-find delphinium. Over 53 varieties of blooming wildflowers identified.

Wildlife

Abundant native wildlife. Amazing bird watching - including autumn and winter starling flocks, swarming with phenomenal aerial displays.

Working Ranch

Working ranch; including gardening, cattle ranching, trail building seminars, seasonal grape harvesting, and wine making. Harvest in season fruits, vegetables, and nuts locally for dinner.

Archery Range

Archery target practice in safe, designated areas.

Astronomy

With almost no light pollution the Benmore Valley is ideal for observational astronomy.

Public Lands

Adjacent to Bureau of Land Management land, endless trails, fishing in native trout pools, hunting, and moto-cross or quad riding.

Regional Activities

Drive down to Hopland for gourmet dining or wine tasting, multiple Hot Springs within 1 hour drive, water ski Clear Lake, explore artsy Ukiah including local farmers market cooperative for fresh organic food, sushi, and a soak at Vichy Hot Springs. Relax in the Healdsburg town square, catch a Friday not concert at Liberty Park in Lakeport. See national musical acts at the Konocti Harbor Ampitheater.
